Wright-Way Rescue will host its “Road to Recovery: Open House” event to provide the public with a preview of the new adoption center before its doors officially open. The event will be held from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at 5915 N. Lincoln Ave. in Morton Grove. The no-kill shelter’s capital campaign “Rescue Wright-Way” is still underway with a goal to raise $1.5 million for the building’s renovations and for its animals’ care. Wright-Way will also provide attendees with naming opportunities for the adoption center and other ways to be a part of its legacy.

“We have done a remarkable job continuing our mission under the circumstances, but we are ready to get settled into our new home,” said Lisa Aiken, Wright-Way Rescue’s Director of Development. “We are excited to share our rebuilding vision with the community and are grateful for all the support we have had since the bus crash.”

Wright-Way was on track to complete 5,000 adoptions in 2013 before the bus crash. Wright-Way Rescue places more dogs in adoptive homes than any other no-kill rescue in the State of Illinois on 10% of the budget.
