The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their first meeting of the NSDAR year 2016-2017 Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N. Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will be served at 12:00 p.m. with a meeting and program to follow. Hostesses for the day are: Carol May, Ann Michael, Julia Trelease, and Gene Andersen, Chairman. Chapter Regent, Gail Enault, is pleased to have Gayla Steel, Illinois Daughters of the American Revolution District IV Director, give a lecture entitled, “The Madonna of the Trail”. She is the former Regent of the Elias Kent Kane Chapter and has been active in the DAR at district and state levels for many years. The Twenty-first Star Chapter serves the Park Ridge, Niles, Des Plaines, and Morton Grove areas. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal decent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. The DAR recognizes "Patriots: as not only soldiers but also anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom."
